@Space: are you used to jamming metal?

I feel like the riffage in this is undeniable. Infectious regardless of previous feelings towards metal.

Space, you should check Queensryche. It's a good point to get into metal if you're a prog fan with little m/ experience. Check Operation: Mindcrime.

never checked them out but have a few buddies who love them so I'll look into their stuff. I'm nowhere
near the most experienced metalhead on sput and I definitely prog harder but I'm no stranger to metal
dude I was in high school once ;)

Album gives me chills.

FUCK the title song is unfairly good. I can't fucking believe what I am listening to. I want to blast that song in public and show people the sickest metal they will ever hear. You shouldn't die without hearing it.

Can someone give me a link to what the original mix actually sounded like? I search Rust In Peace original in YouTube and everything I hear sounds similar if not the same as the album on Spotify. But there are three songs at the end of the Spotify album that sound much different and I'm not sure if that is the original sound or demos. They seem less fun to listen to.

Could you like a video that is 100% the original mix?

I have an old school copy that my stepdad had. You can probably find the original on amazon or ebay.

If the three songs are demos then I guess I was hearing the originals on YouTube. The originals and the 2004 remastered sound pretty damn similar to me.

the drums sound fucking awful on the remaster and the vocals are quite different, but you probably wouldn't notice unless you're really used to listening to one version

there's other mixing/mastering changes but if you're listening on YouTube I have a feeling that that kind of thing wouldn't bother you

The remastered version pales compared to the original mix and almost manages to destroy this masterpiece... Why remaster a perfect album in the first place?
