Man everyone goes on about how much of a classic this is. I just can't seem to get there ay. Still brilliant just not feeling the same sense when blackwater park, ghost reveries and heritage clicked for me.

everyone has their favorite opeth albums so its all good if you're not particularly digging this one. don't sweat it. the fact that you're jamming opeth in the first place shows you're doing something right

For whatever reason this just doesn't manage to hold my attention like the albums that came before it do.

They began somewhat to embrace traditional songwriting techniques.

White Cluster and The Moor. Best introduction and ending track duo for Opeth.

Morningrise drags for me. I still like it but it really overstays it's welcome after awhile.

Morningrise doesn't drag at all for me. It has possibly the best atmosphere of any Opeth album (probably tied with MAYH) and it has a lot of my favourite Opeth moments, particularly the acoustic parts.

Still rules though don't get me wrong.
