I actually still listen to the clutch tracks but I skip over all the filler. I've even made an itunes playlist to skip certain songs with ease.

I like this a lot but your right about the filler content...

"Assistants Assistants" is awesum.

Oh also should i bother with their two middle albums? This Message Edited On 10.29.07

Well it does really blow hard compared to everything else they've created. I think the entire album is hard to listen to.This Message Edited On 10.29.07

This is the best summary I've read of this album.

Worst TS cd but, I still love this band more than anything.
Their a personal band for personal people.

Darts was underproduced but you could hear what they wanted,
Hospital Music was touching,
Goodnight Alchemy was adding breakdowns,

This is just filler and a half.

The songs are great and all, but it seems as they are trying to live up to their own hype.

I've gotten graced with a few songs off bad luck from the band and well Bad Luck just may shape up to be the next Hospital Music but with more of a blues influence.

Here's to waiting patiently for "Bad Luck"

Ya I'm hoping Bad Luck refines the eclecticism of A. A. but also does something new while not forgetting what made Hospital Music rule.

Ok, so after avoiding all their material except Hospital Music for a while, I finally got around to listening to this one, and I really like it. I love 'Alligators, Alligators', it's cheesy but at the same time touching. This Message Edited On 11.24.08

I don't know why, this is my favorite album i've ever heard. The lyrics are amazing, not stupid.

So I'm listening to 'Alligator. Alligators.' right now & it's probably one of the gayest emo songs ever.

Oh come on the rapping in 'Assassin. Assassins.' is laughably bad.

I really do love this album. Alibis is pretty unnecessary. You're right about a few other things too, but this is what got me into Trophy Scars.

Meh. This is a shit review. The CD is a lot better than what you people are getting at. The lyrics beautifully paint Jerry's neurosis and the allusions to the Bonny and Clyde "love" story are more than welcome. What you people call "filler" tracks are more or less transitions from style to style, much like what a bridge in sonata allegro form does. The drums are refreshing and the guitars weave in and out of each other allowing Jerry to capitalize on a style much like his delivery. This is a CD that I can always go back to and listen, therefore surviving the test of time (what the arts are judged on). The rapping is unexpected and is decent. You people don't listen to enough rap. (You people = neighsayers)

The rapping and "Yes" and "No" are hilariously fun for novelty value.
I don't think it's supposed to be taken seriously.
