Good, but not as memorable as what would follow. Too many cheesy, overdone 'epic' pieces.

The first 2 songs are a prime example. Some good riffs here and there, but the songs are too drawn-out, and are definitely not Maiden classics.

Flight of Icarus is the first stand-out of the album. Awesome chorus, great bassline, and a wicked solo. Solid vocal performance by Bruce throughout.

The Trooper is the other standout, being one of Maiden's greatest tunes. Instantly recognizable intro riff and a killer solo. The momentum is gone after this track though...

Next 3 tracks are forgettable. 'Still Life' aka Still Born with its atrocious lyrics and 'Quest For Fire' is just as bad with that terrible chorus.

Maiden was really trying for an epic closer, but it didn't work out.

Too much filler on this one.
