Thieves and Choke were made so the hXc kids can flail their arms at people during shows

Choke is still their best straight up brutal rage-filled track tho

Eh, I like Thieves (aside from that one lyric line) and Slave better. Musically, Choke's breakdown is just way too cliche to my ears.

Either way, I'm having my "straight up brutal rage-filled" needs met by END lately haha

Still gotta check END too. As much as I hate artists that caps-lock their names some of them are actually good.

Haunt Me is quickly becoming my favorite on the album. Such a good track. I can see the track fitting in perfectly on TDBH&H.

Also the introduction to A Memory Misread is soo sick

and yeah I agree, Murphy's lyrics can definitely be either very "here's the breakdown bro" or melodramatic at times. Still the lyricism is great %90 of the time on this LP. Though I could think that because I have a flair for the dramatic

This album makes me jizz a little harder every time I spin it. Had it on repeat all day tbh

I seem to be in the minority in not enjoying Haunt Me as much as the rest of the album, still a great song though

Counterparts is one of those bands where their guitar tones and general production quality are so uniformly excellent that they almost serve as an additional, distinct instrument. The breakdown on Memory Misread is so ridiculously simple but that beast guitar tone just drives it home.

Pretty much yeah. Its not like its even studio magic that could only be possible in the post-2010 world of sound design, its just really reallllly good work on the engineer's behalf.

So what are you guys digging more? This or END's debut EP?

Probably this just because I have to be in a more specific mood to listen to END. I can listen to this pretty much whenever and enjoy myself. But... END is very, very good.

I would say this just because I was so hyped and excited for this to drop and Counterparts have been such an important band for me over the past several years, and this album just crushes it

that END ep is so vicious though, been digging it hard as well

Band is overrated as fuck. Literally do not notice a single change in their discography and practically every song sounds the same. I don't know why I even keep bothering with them every time they release something new.

I wouldn't say that but certainly this band has one thing on the agenda to me and its going on autopilot since their first album.
