somehow feel like some of the criticism of this album has been taught in the trappings of expectation rather than in the quality of the music. The falsetto captures a rare angst in aural form and moreover, the lyrics undercut that emotive tendency in a way which I almost universally enjoy, the instrumentation is pretty always well arranged, yeah i dunno, this is like radiohead's half-matured niece that still tries his hardest to like lego. I even heard Desire on the radio in passing which was quality fun

this is just about on par with get to heaven for me, it benefits from its condensed runtime even if it lacks that album's variety. has a lot of immediately catchy tunes but i can also tell that its gonna grow on me over time, so i might end up bumping this to a 4.5.
