The closing track has really grown on me, but I still don't love much of the content from "Permanating" to "Detonation". First half remains killer

I experimented with an alternate tracklisting and this worked out real nice:
To The Bone
Nowhere Now
Pariah
Refuge
Same Asylum as Before
Blank Tapes
People Who Eat Darkness
Permanating
Song of I
Detonation
Song of Unborn
Pariah -> Refuge -> Same Asylum flows insanely well. Blank Tapes splits up the album nicely, and Permanating acts as a joyful hurrah before the intensity of the last 3 songs.
As much as I do enjoy Permanating, I definitely considered just leaving it out of the album in general...

I'm a bit disapponted by Steven to be onest. This one sounds artificial and soulless

it's weaker than his last two, that's for sure. this is probably like a 3,8 for me

It remains a 3.5 for me and I've revisited it 2-3 times since rating it. Still, I'm seeing him live regardless of how I feel about the album, though I'm on the fence with seeing the 2nd NYC show (already got tickets for the first show).

My boy rips a sick solo over the ending instrumental part of Pariah

The man has been one of my favourites for a long time now. Double posted it because the site was on the cusp of going down so weird stuff starts happening lol

That's an incredible solo, holy crap.

Almost every review of this album name checks Talk Talk and Tears for Fears as major influences. Besides the harmonica in the opening song I don't hear a lot of clear references. Is this copycat behaviour of a lot of reviewers??
