Damn, he's really topping the charts lately. He's like getting so much attention from online publications like The Guardian. Kind of surprising.

Earlier this year he signed to Caroline

Also that line ''It's up to you now'' kind of reminds me of the Interpol lyric ''It's up to me now, turn on the bright lights'' doesn't sound the same, obviously.

Just watched a new interview. The fact that this guy's almost 50 and still looks like he's in his late 20s or early 30s is fucking ridiculous

Asylum sounds so much like Prodigal half way through the song

Yeah, it does. Even the outro does too, because of the way Steven adds the guitar leads over the chord progression

I don't really get Wilson/Porcupine Tree - I like stuff like Anathema and David Sylvian so really his stuff should be right up my alley...but something turns me off with him.
I'll keep trying with this.

might be his lyrics
as much as I love most of his stuff, he is a pretty terrible lyricist

There's something else too, I really struggle with Porcupine Tree.
I mean I can hear his influence on the Anathema albums he worked on and don't dislike his sound in that context but when it's his own stuff, industrial strength Wilson, I just don't connect.
