Damn I've never actually heard that song. It's decent for sure.

I didn't really like Silverside up and stopped listening to them after that. But the State was my jam back in the day and deserves at least a 3. People see Nickelback and instantly give it a 1 or 2

The State definitely has some jams on it too. Not one of my favorites, but I can appreciate the (relatively) grungier and rawer stuff they did back then.

"Not as bad as the artwork to the last Slipknot album"

Have to agree with you there.

Not a terrible album by any means. I mean who ever thought that Nickelback would end an album with an long acoustic/orchestral Instrumental track. It's a shame they still rely so much on the cheesy ballads cause the heavier tracks are pretty bangin.

I feel like the ballads are what sunk the band's reputation in the first place, as their heavier songs are usually pretty good

Yeah, they've got maybe 3 or 4 great ballads in their entire discog, out of the 20 or so that they've written. Home is actually a really good one on this album, one of my favorite tracks.

Nickelback's heavier songs though... so many good ones to choose from. Never Again, Just For, Flat on the Floor, Because Of You, Follow You Home, Fight For All the Wrong Reasons, Burn It to the Ground, Gotta Get Me Some, and then the 4 heavy songs on this album

Feed The Machine and The Betrayal act III are great tracks. And it's really nice that they've pretty much let go of the obnoxious party lyrics.

Is this their attempt at being "woke" like every other corporate rock band these days?

at least now nickelback's greatest achievement is producing something more tolerable than new linkin park

I never liked Linkin Park much in the first place... but in the end, it doesn't even matter :]

Every 20-30 year old I know went through Linkin Park phase at some point, usually during high school when they were first getting into music.

I don't know anyone who still listens to anything other than Hybrid Theory or Meteora now

Living Things and The Hunting Party were ok, but still pale imitations of what they once were.

I can't think of a Linkin Park album I'd give a 3 or higher

Meteora is the only album I would, and that's mostly for nostalgia reasons

Yeah, I never grew up with Linkin Park. It's kinda like the whole Blink-182 thing... a lot of people love them for nostalgic reasons, and I suppose I'll never relate to that
