I really like FF previous releases and i was hyped for this, so im not trying to be contrarian.

eh, I wouldn't consider myself a fan... I just like their other stuff much more. But now after I revisited their last records this new one feels a lot more inevitable that at first I thought. They were bound to go prog from the begining :´(

What I have heard again sounds very good. Can't tell whether I would like it as much as their previous album, but I will be pre-ordering it as I doubt it would disappoint.
