It's because sowing has a lot of teenage angst to contend with

Although this isn't an angsty album it's more of a basic bitch album. W/e tho, I'm kinda over trying to maintain an image and I just like what I like.

"I think for me the ideal situation would be to make bloated, infectious pop and get your money early on. Then you can "mature" and crate artistically relevant material from there once you've made a living."
forming a band just to make some nice cash wouldn't provide a very good basis on doing actually genuine stuff though

i respect that i just don't see it. Seems similar to some of their past material albeit a lot more forgettable/tedious

"forming a band just to make some nice cash wouldn't provide a very good basis on doing actually genuine stuff though"
true, but it has happened
"i respect that i just don't see it. Seems similar to some of their past material albeit a lot more forgettable/tedious"
certainly fair as well, I knew I'd be a heavy outlier when I started spinning this and actually enjoy what I heard

"true, but it has happened"
when?

the music itself isn't completely meritless it's more the laziness/regression after the hunting party imo

Well, I for one would commend Sowing. Just because a majority doesn't enjoy something doesn't mean there isn't a minority who do. Hell, I was in a minority that actually really liked A Thousand Suns and still do. And there are a ton of albums and films that I enjoy and nobody else seems to, just as much stuff I hate and everyone loves. So if anything this just shows that you don't have to be embarrassed by what you like or dislike (no matter the rating) just as long as you can explain it well.
So yeah, kudos Sowing. Kind of a brave rating considering the kind of album we're on about.

we're ruthless with each other for the the fuck of it but in actuality you don't have to explain your judgement of a subjective medium. If it makes you feel that's enough justification.

honestly if I were younger I'd probably hate this, my taste has really mellowed out the last few years
also ftr this doesn't really make me feel so much as it is something I can put on during my drive to work, enjoy the melodies, and have a few songs stuck in my head for the day
and yeah, in the same way no one has to explain why they hate this because I totally get why

Challenge accepted, I think. Only if Irving drops his dibs though, I believe he was planning on doing it. Would be truly funny to see it get a 74 on metacritic from this site even though the site avg is a 32.

yeah I knew ppl would be perplexed but...

At this point I've given up at understanding Sowing's tastes, his 5 list gives me hiccups and he pretty much like everything Sputnik or I find bland.
While his reviews are great, every time he enjoys anything I assume I'll despise it.

Wasn't so much a challenge, I'd just love to read a well written argument on what makes this entertaining. If anyone could do a review like that for this album it'd certainly be you Sowing
