Queen for Queen was fun. it gave me nostalgia for Breaking Benjamin and Red. 570 is also fun, but the rest is pure garbage. Not My Type is one of the worst songs I've heard this year.

Yeah Queen for Queen, 570, and Eternally Yours are easily the top 3 for me here.

Same, just wish the rest was any good. I get how someone could like this, but the Marilyn Manson lite sound is a huge turn off for me.

ya queen for queen is some solid generic breaking benjamin stuff. which i have no problem admitting has its perks.
|
| |
haha yeah I agree the Breaking Benjamin moments are actually not bad.

Catchy sometimes. Mediocre-ish throughout. I guess that's what these kinda bands are going for.

I do not see why people are trashing this album. I see the Korn, Marilyn Manson and Breaking Benjamin influences, but in Soft there is a real Slipknot-y vibe throughout the verses. I feel like the people that hate this album are the same people who enjoyed Linkin Park's newest singles.
Evolving does not mean changing completely, it means changes over a period of time. From the Whorror to Creatures, to Infamous, Reincarnate and now Graveyard Shift, they have evolved into more complete musicians and are more refined than in previous releases.

It's the lyrics that are letting this down, Chris (or whoever else writes them as well) just sounds kinda cringe when he's saying some of the things on this. He is 30 ffs, no one is saying he has to go all woke and sing about SJ but maybe a little growth in the lyrics would go with the supposed growth in musicianship.

Yeah just like chug73 said, if the lyrics weren't awful, I could see this is a solid step forward for them. I agree that they are refining their sound. Chris' vocals have improved a ton and they have made a lot of progress in some areas. But somehow their lyrics are getting more immature as they get older and are just increasingly worse with each release IMO. I would say I like all of their albums about equally, just in different ways. I don't think it's the fact they are evolving that is causing people to trash the album.

only track i really cared for is 570 and it's a pretty stale old school melo metalcore throwback so

Motionless In White really are not a band to progress.
Maybe downhill, but that's about it.

I actually cringed reading the lyrics to not my type

2nd half is definitely much stronger than the 1st half, although the only good tracks are "The Ladder" "570" and "Eternally Yours".

I thought Creatures was like average to pretty good throughout, a bit more of the latter even.

lol, these guys are from Scranton.
I usually like to talk up my hometown bands as the Menzingers and Captain, We're Sinking. Not so much Motionless in White.

Necessary Evil might be one of the most cringy-worthy songs i've heard in years.
