They tried to go for Architects atmosphere but missed it hilariously and it's left with some bland boring nonsense.

Marcus is so boring, I don't understand how anybody could like his vocals, let alone his vocals over Adrian's. His voice was better before Node tbh, because Rot as a single and his audition for Northlane he had some pretty raw vocals.

They did not at all try to go for Architects lmao. The name is inspired by them but that's it

And Zero-One and Render have some riffage my dude

Adrian sounds like he's hurting himself. Marcus's voice (both screams and cleans) is smooth af. I like smooth over raw, even with screaming. I do like both though.

yeah, it seems that we look for different things in metalcore. I prefer rawness, both vocally and production wise. This isn't bad, but it's very by the numbers and not interesting for the most part.

Marcus has zero passion in his screams, Adrian sounded like he put every emotion into each yell, and those lows blow me away. Plus Adrian's lyrics were better imo

The album is sublime. Cannot spot any major gripes with it; definitely their most focused and mature output. Zero-One, Render, Savage and Paragon are clear stand-outs.

Saw them live last week. Small venue with about 200 people. Absolutely amazing sound, and it did the new songs huge justice. Having now seen Northlane with both Adrian and Marcus, the latter might have just tipped in favour of who I prefer as vocalist. Marcus was incredible. Screams resonate so much harder in a live setting, and his clean vocals were spot on.

Even better was having Hands Like Houses as the support. Took along a couple of mates who have never been to a heavy show before, (one only listens to rap music). Had an absolute blast. Was worth the 90 minute drive to get home at 1am. Would do it again.

Citizen and Intuition are massive live by the way. Stole the thunder from their classic songs.

Marcus very obviously kicks Adrian's ass in the live shows, that's always been true. Intuition live is special.

You haven't lived until you hear Adrian's lows live during the Genesis Scarab intro, that shit went hard. I prefer Adrian both studio and live, I absolutely cannot stand Marcus's screams live

I want to like this so badly but it misses the mark when it's frustratingly close. Has a couple good songs though.
