Sorry for enjoying music guys. >=(
No but seriously this is my favorite DP record and IMO well worth a high score like I gave it. I'll typically hand out one 5 a year and anywhere between three and five 4.5's, it's just how I roll.

One 5 plus another 5-10 4.5s a year is also how I roll so make no apology

True enlightenment is when you have 0 5s, 247 2.5s, and 37 1s every year

It's stayed at that percent for the better part of a year, should I consult my physician?

This is pretty pleasant but not much more

only posted my rating cause sowing was bitching about the average

Maybe that was my plan all along: review this insanely high to build expectations, then bitch about the average so people feel inclined to be contrarians and further decimate the avg. I actually hate this record. ; )

Can we talk about how fucking unbelievable "Ascent Through Clouds" is?
|

Has become a close second for me behind Keep Your Name
The lyrics in the final verse are astounding

I keep going back and forth on this. At first I'm annoying by the Bon Iver meets Sufjan aesthetic going on, but then the music hits and I'm like "shit this is tight"

My opinion just also shifted a little and I'm feeling like this is a way more solid 3.5 for me. Some of it gets a little tired after more than a few listens but I still really like a lot of it

Cool Your Heart and Up In Hudson are the only ones I'm tempted to skip, but 7/9 tracks are just so well done and different, memorable, emotional, etc.

Cool Your Heart was the only song I found memorable :/

It's memorable but a little too peppy. Kind of doesn't fit in with the album and sounds like something I'd play on the way to the beach.
