its got that experimental rnb/pop/indie vibe but its way more vibrant that this album (from what I can tell after 2 songs)

I don't know how that slipped by me in 2015 though, seems like my cup of tea

if your album is s/t and it isn't your debut you've run out of ideas basically

i agree as well BUT there is a very poignant, thematic, emotionally resonant reason for it being s/t so idk

i think it can be a bit arbitrary sometimes and I dislike it in those instances, but when there's a reason for it, like there is here, i'm a fan

Dave and Amber were dating ever since she appeared in the band I believe. And then I guess they broke up sometime after swing lo. I'd say at least 2 years after that release was when Dave was on his own, and Angel and Amber called it quits with the band

Beautiful review. I find the weird hip-hop-inspired section of Keep Your Name interesting, but so, so awkward. It was a neat idea, though, so might grow on me.

I wanna know why people aren't talking about how Winner Takes Nothing has one of the best straight up hip hop beats I've heard in a while, that shit seriously knocks

The hip hop section on " Keep Your Name" is actually one of my favorite moments on the entire album. It's when the experience goes from depressing and emotional to "oh shit this is some off the wall stuff". And I agree that "Winner Takes Nothing" also has one of the best hip hop inspired moments.

I'm still taking all of this in. It's kind of an odd feeling because there are a ton of awesome individual moments but in looking at the album as a while I still feel disillusioned.
