Yep, I love both bands, but neither of them are turning heads at singing competition, but punk music has never been about "who's the best singer" which is part of the beauty of the genre. For instance i think Soupy from The Wonder Years and Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties could sing circles around them, hell watch some of his acoustic sets. It's not a knock on either of them, for their style I don't want a singer who could make it on The Voice, I want someone who sings with passion and intensity and be a great song writer, I mean nobody ever listened to Bob Dylan for his voice.

Eh I may be discounting their singing chops a bit but they'd never place in a singing competition, but like I said, I don't listen to punk rock to hear someone singing with the range of Whitney Houston.

We're on the same page then! I like to compare it to art and drawing; you can have someone who can draw a picture and make it look completely realistic, which make them a fantastic artist in their own right, but they're incapable of creating something original, unique and evokes thought and emotion. Music is the same way, Greg and his brother would never win a singing contest like American Idol or the Voive, but those shows can only pump out singers who can EMULATE others, and even though they can hit every note perfectly they have no artistic integrity. I think they're amazing singers, but for their lack of being able to realistically compete with top tier singers they have artistic integrity and can create and express original emotions.
