i can't believe the first track on this album - these assholes need to realize people don't have the same attention span they did in 1997 - what happens immediately after that boring ass track is a super fun album, but because of it's onset, it'll never be more than just "good in my opinion."

for Sepultura trolls - what is "Iceberg Dances"? lol!!!!!

I was there since 1996

I think the opening track is decent at the very least, but it is indeed a weird choice. Solid album though, feeling a 3.5-4

This is pretty meh so far. I liked how they tried a more hardcore-oriented style on "I am the Enemy" but even that had a lot of clunky rhythms in it. The rest is just the same old groove metal they've done before, but not very interestingly.

edit: AND it's 50 minutes long? Kinda doubt I'll be able to sit through this whole thing.

spotify says 50 mins, but that's with bonus tracks. I'm counting those since they're both as meh as anything else here.

...I agree with the review, it's the best post-Cavalera album. Worth of giving it a go!!!

I couldn't pretend to be interested in the current "Sepultura" even if I was paid to.

don't care enough to jam the one that came before this one, or Dante again to actually justify my argument. Kairos still best tho

Yeah this might be the best thing they've done post-max, this album offers more in terms of ideas and songwriting then at least a bulk of what has been released under the Sepultura name in the past years. I can't help but feel like some moments feel a little dated, like those mentioned Groove Metal elements, but the more thrashier moments and tracks like Iceberg Dances do change it up enough so that it stays interesting. I'm not completely head over heels but its pretty enjoyable for me so far.
