"Morose" is a good description -- that, and how comfortable it is in it.

@Blushful, definitely "Brittle Boned" (I love how much the song builds throughout), and the final track, that piano is gorgeous and I love the ending ambience.

Something's so, so sad. And Brittle Boned is incredible, some of the album's best lyrics.

that build on brittle boned gives me this post rock feeling

Yeah, it and Vessels have the clearest Daughter influence I think, who happen to adopt those post rock elements in their own brand of sad kinda indie music.

Yeah i do hear a bit of post rock in Brittle Boned for sure, not one of my favorites if i'm being honest.

Brittle Boned is one of the lesser songs, I agree. I'm at the point where I can look past most if not all of this album's flaws, though, and connect to it all. Otherwise this'd be more like a strong 3.5.

I love albums like that, where you reach a point of connection or a level of relationship with a record that you can openly recognise its flaws yet still unconditionally love it for the connection its made with you

I agree but I also think this is a legit 4.5 aha. maybe blinded by love but idc :D

Fair enough, I think it's a 4.5 too, of course. It's more like this -- within the context of what I've listened to and rated, this one sort of just sticks out a bit in terms of what affects my enjoyment of an album. So, how much I connect to what's being said trumps what is usually a dislike for cliche; my penchant for sad, "genuine" singer-songwriters trumps some mixing issues, etc.
Hm... I guess we're both blinded by love. :')
