Nah I mean it in the same way I'd say Defector by Muse is a good song but sounds too much like Queen. This is a great album but it borrows a little too much from the Funkadelic sound for my liking

which is why i love emo music so much because I realize they ripoff shit from the 90s but like I don't really care that much because the music itself is still amazing and hits hard. just because it sounds like another band doesn't take away from the fact that it's good. there is a point however where an album can sound like a straight ripoff but up until that point I don't factor that into my rating all that much

Me and Your Mama is absolutely influenced by Funkadelic and even pulls from jazzy prog like King Crimson but it's executed very well because it manages to be very original. I'm trying to say that the way that it reminds me so much of Funkadelic and other psych-funk rubs me the wrong way, but obviously judging by my rating it does not cripple my enjoyment of the album to any great extent
