"Donβt Waste Your Wishes is basically the album equivalent of that ugly Christmas sweater you were forced to wear as a pre-teen, when it was awkward enough just to talk to people let alone explain why you look like a seventeenth century afghan rug with acne. " Spot on.
Also "Cumpleanos" in Spanish is smth like "anus achiever", missing the infamous "Γ±", which in Flower's case probably makes a lot of sense.

By all means give it a listen. I don't really want to discourage everyone from even giving this a chance, it was abysmal for me though. And I loved their first two albums and even found some appeal in Day and Age. This just feels...uncomfortable

lol loved this review, great write-up

Christmas albums as a rule are pretty terrible but at least this is a charity album so..that should earn them 1/2 a point at least

Yeah I really actually dig the weirdness of Day & Age, Battle Born was fine, but.... frustrating to say the least.

I liked Hot Fuss and Sam's Town and hell, even Day & Age, but this is atrocious.

failing to comprehend how sowing could give this anything less than a 2.5 without feeling like a mean person

Christmas albums Doof would actually welcome in 2016:
- Mercury Rev (their albums are packed full of schmaltzy sounding fairytale music now anyway)
- Bitchin Bajas / Bonnie Prince Billy (Christmas Lunch with a side helping of 'shrooms)
- Danny Brown (all I want for Christmas is sqwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawk)
- Lightning Bolt (self explanatory)
