I do dig the debut more, but I love both albums

Crazy stuff going on in this album, definitely underrated, songs are composed very carefully.

That good old "true metal" mentality in most of metal forums has actually destroyed metal music as a whole, starting from metal artists who were slightly affected by some stupid "fan" comments and started changing their music in order to fit in within the "true metal" community and destroyed their creativity (example: Trivium in some songs). So this band does not give a damn about your growling, true metal, anti breakdown, guitar solo requests and i think that's awesome.

idk how far-reaching its influence is in songwriting, but i agree that the tr00 shit is dumb. I suspect some metal groups are only popular because they fit into some of the tr00 molds and not because people entirely like the music. But of course you can't get into someone's head to know for sure.

Along those lines I really like Rush Hour, incredible vox and he doesn't give a fuck that he's singing super high (but it's not manly!)

main problem on here is that a lot of the tracks have a really samey feel to them. like if you're not paying attention you could easily mistake the first and second tracks as one long song... exact same tempo and chord progression.

Shit this is fantastic. Been listening since it came out and still not tired of it. A new single came out yesterday and it's not even close to anything off this, unfortunately. The production also kinda sucks

I hope they got a new album coming soon. The single didn't do much for me but I'm still looking forward to more of their stuff.

It could have been because I was playing the song straight off my shitty iPhone speakers but I could barely hear the dudes vocals over the guitars on the new song

Honestly I like the song, but the production is pretty meh. However it does give it a unique sound and somewhat of a charm

Just saw this band open for Eyes Set to Kill, and they were pretty good.

The new album is a step down in almost every regard compared to this. It's mostly saved by Shayley's voice and a few standout tracks, but it's also littered with filler songs, wt least after a first listen.

Yeah, and I can't get over how flat the production is compared to Nexus, Shayley's voice sometimes sounds too processed, and the bass tone isn't prominent as it is here. It's just off somehow and I can't say precisely why.
