i mean minus resolving lyrical themes like rowbro said but the music itself is hard to justify given the rest of the album

I like it but the closing track just feels like such a waste of a track. All this emotion and buildup on every track and they flow right into the next one pretty much just to end with a static atmospheric melody that does nothing.

is the bonus track any good/essential or should I take comfort in knowing I didn't miss much by accidentally buying the standard version?

I think it's pretty good, but I don't know about essential. I think it'd be a better closer than Onyx.

Agreed with dbizzles, it's good just meandering, but definitely worth a listen.
@Balls: Ecailles will always be their best, but Kodama comes close along with Voyages imo
This really does need to get on Spotify already

I don't know if anyone mentionned this, but goddamn those drums sound good. Their volume is perfectly mixed, the toms/snare have just the right "pop" to it. You can hear all the nuances on the cymbal work too.
