Pretty meh. I don't necessarily want growls but Opeth's brand of Prog is just uninspiring compared to what we know they're capable of. It's also true that they are held to a much higher standard than other bands so idk. 3 at best.
Ward and Spring were easily my favorite tracks... kinda ironic. I didn't even realize they were bonus tracks at first since they aren't listed as such on Spotify. Not gonna buy this but excited to see them in NYC in a few hours.

They're still in a transitional period. They're trying to figure out how to make good progressive rock while still sounding like Opeth. This isn't a masterpiece by any means, but it's a step in the right direction in that regard, and I think they have another masterpiece in them.

Persephone is such a sweet opener

These last 3 albums just shed some perspective on how glorious that decade long run from Orchid to GR was. Every single album was fucking amazing and yet different. It was remarkable while it lasted.

I've really warmed up to the t/t in the past few days, despite how repetitive and awkward it is.

So far I'm liking this A LOT more than I expected. Everything seems to be coming together than they did as singles

I can second that, tbh I even regret listening to the singles beforehand. They make so much more sense in the context and the album's got a great flow during the first few tracks. Can't say the same thing about the rest of the album though.

A Fleeting Glance is PC levels of lame, yikes.
Likin' Strange Brew a lot, it certainly lives up to its name.

Strange Brew is indeed a strange track. It works, though.

Is it actually a Cream cover or

Nope, not at all. It's an Opeth song through and through.
