Wow, those would be two of my least favourites. I'm all about Invisible, Meat, Black Sand and Blue Head. Opinions man

That being said, this took me a good few listens. I think you'd like Tales more Ars

Interesting... I'm going to see if I like The Nothing Show more upon further listens first though

Black Sand kind of grew on me a bit, but I honestly can't say that this is really all that consistent.

The album could have oddly enough used far less rock music.

Disagreed hard, subverting rock and metal is such a big part of their sound. I think you're missing something big here tbh :P

I do think Fancy (their third, final and best album) is more focused, if that's what you mean by "inconsistent"

No, by inconsistent I meant that I flat out didn't like about half of the tracks.

I expected this album to honestly be far more theatrical and have far less metal influence, especially since the opening song heavily implied that. I don't know... it just didn't resonate with me, but the concept of it is still admirable.

Damn, I love everything here. I guess I just really like the avant-garde metal parts, both aesthetically and thematically... that's what guitar music sounds like in its death throes. Really isn't too far removed from the metal on Disco Volante to me.

To me, Disco was crazier, jazzier, and had some really standout and wacky vocals

Can't say I feel the same about this, though there are some similarities.

Do you like no wave stuff? Like early Swans or noisier Sonic Youth?

I feel like you've got to dig dissonance and atonality a lot to like Idiot Flesh, it is such a big part of their sound honestly, on this album especially

I like early Sonic Youth and James Chance and the Contortions.

Have you jammed Filth or Cop by Swans? Those albums opened a good few doors for me
