This is damn good black metal. Darkthrone has been doing the same thing for well over ten years, but people support them because that one formula is so good. Their first three are some of black metal's most crucial releases, although Soulside journey was death metal.

I prefer the production of Panzerfaust/Soulside Journey, haven't listened to this album much. The production isn't too bad, but I just can't stand A Blaze In The Northern Sky's.
I think I'll listen to this album in a minute.

Just getting into black metal and heard this was a classic so i bought it and i love it. True production might be bad compared to other genre's of metal but i love the feeling it gives to the music.
