Brand New's best record. Also, the only review i'v ever made on this site, it's from this album.

album is just jam city straight up, easily their second best. also the most i've been, i guess, shocked by a song on first listen was when this came out and vices opened. didn't know the band and especially lacey would be capable of that kind of deranged energy

Yeah I vividly remember downloading this album the day it leaked and when I heard Vices I thought that I had been trolled and it was some other band.

Hey Sowing: TDAG vs Vheissu vs Simple Math - who wins?

I love TDAG and Vh passionately so maybe I should get on Simple Math if it's related somehow...?

It's not really the same kind of record, but it's a 5 to me. Much less heavy than either of those records, more string/melody oriented. Still has great lyrics too.

Simple Math's cool, but it's not like, brilliant or anything

Kind of my opinion on Manchester Orchestra in general, wish I saw in them what everyone else seems to

Yeah I don't think it has the same brilliance factor, it's just one of the best albums I've ever heard on a song by song basis. Like every song on that album is a 4.5 or higher it's ridiculous

It's not other than that they're all albums I love

eh, just feels weird next to simple math and tdag because comparing those two actually makes sense

either way, all of them are great

I wanted to ask the comparisons because they're very much the magnum opuses of the respective bands in my humble opinion. Also because they're my three favourite modern records and I know Sowing rates them all v highly.

Vheissu (just - and that's mostly because of Hold Fast Hope) > Simple Math > TDAG (if TDAG didn't have "Not The Sun" in it then I'd have to reconsider) for me though

Man, it'll be pretty sweet when this 7 year old album isn't their newest record anymore

"We need ten years, everyone, so we can return"

I always thought it was "we need 10 years on rewind so we can return"

¯_(ツ)_/¯

I've always found A-Z Lyrics to be pretty reliable

at least it isn't riddled with ads, and they rarely have pages that say "oops! lyrics haven't been added to this yet"
