I might do a write up now that it's actually out, not sure if it will be any good though.

This is better than Since I Left You tbh, much less grinding sample repetition and much more quality songwriting. Knew it was going to be good when NME bagged it

My interest for Since I Left You died near the end, but I think it's way better than this in a lot of ways.

Since I Left You is easily better, I can't even compare them at this point

I'm excited to hear this. Single with Danny Brown was weird, in a good way

I think SILY had a lot of filler too, tracks that really weren't worth a second thought, didn't go anywhere apart from maybe fading one sample out over the course of the song and another one in. SILY really wanted to take us on that cruise, to take us from one group of sounds to another and another. In Wildflower, sounds are subordinate to songs and the concept is subordinate to the overall experience. It sounds much more self assured, blissed out and warm and there are tracks that go from point A to point B in complex, lyrical ways instead of straightforward aural ones, meaning that they stand alone when listened to in isolation but still fit into both a coherent whole and the tracks that they are directly before and after. And even if that whole meanders a bit, well, I think that serves a purpose too. There's rarely anything concise about emotion.

That's a cool thought that makes me wanna check this album out, partially because I get what you mean about the first record. SILY really can feel like a journey somewhere, like, the majority of the record. But then again that's something about it I don't particularly mind

Bluesparrow: that's an excellent write up. You should turn it into a review

Thanks. I'm not a very good reviewer but maybe I'll give it a shot.

i preferred this to since i left you, while its less cohesive overall it has more individual standout tracks and i like the sunnier vibe

i think i might like this more than since i left you as well. or maybe it's because of how fresh this is and i've played sily to death
