the take you've all been waiting for: there's a fine line between charmingly upbeat and cheesily saccharine and this album errs on the wrong side of that groove!!!
Frankie Sinatra and The Noise Eater are two of the worst songs i've ever endured too lol
and don't even get started on fucking Father John Misty

frankie sinatra is great and anyone who says otherwise is lame but i agree the noise eater is the worst thing ever
and don't even get started on fucking Father John Misty [2]
hes everything wrong with indie music and I cant even make this statement because it means hes winning and i hate it.

Honestly "Stepkids" doesn't even sound like it belongs on this album.
Is Royal Trux a good band? What album would you guys recommend? Do they sound like that song at all?

the avalanches were about 15 years too late to catch the hypetrain

"heard this doesn't really do anything to progress from their last. is there any truth to that"
Mostly tru. "Frankie Sinatra" is pretty much completely out of their usual comfort zone, but other than that this is more or less "Since I left you pt.2"
"and don't even get started on fucking Father John Misty

"i get what you mean if you're saying this doesn't really meet the hype but i don't really get too much SILY vibes."
It is a bit more beat oriented and less cohesive than SILY, but tbh to my ears the first point doesn't really make a biiig difference. I mean there is some evolution here, but not a lot aside from a few tracks. And the second point doesn't really say anything about the sound of the album.
I also wasn't the biggest fan of SILY, so it's not like I'm the most qualified to speak on this topic, but I can definitely say that I wasn't overhyped for this.

SILY is a 4 for me, fun and technically ingenious but not sure where it could hit me deeper than that - quality listen but not a life changer

a synecdoche of everything wrong with this album: the gorgeous chopped 'n' screwed and accordion interplay between 1:30 and 1:35 of Live a Lifetime Love segueing into trite and insipid neo-psychadelia

That artwork is fuckin beautiful.

Man I really really hate Noisy Eater. Agree on the rap parts feeling out of place as well and forced. But I still dig a lot of these tracks.

Danny Brown and Doom are both solid on this. Not so much the other rappers for me.
