How can you find it really boring? There's quite a bit going on in the song, which does make it fairly annoying especially considering it's 4 minutes, but boring? Strange.
And that womans voice is actually strangely awesome. Makes me want to jump on my bed and just dance. Albarn's "ohohohoh" thing is way more annoying.

I find it boring because it only has a dance melody, with not many vocals. Not good stuff if you want to sit down and listen to some good music.

I don't find the music very boring I just find it to be very stripped down at points. For example Kids With Guns isn't a very boring song but it just drags on with the same bassline for to long. Another example would be El Manana, the music is kind of groovy and fun but the song doesn't really seem to go anywhere.

I think it's definitely one of the best songs of the year. I like that funky music white monkey.

Ecellent review and excellent album. I haven't gotten my own copy of it yet, but it seems to be a lot better than the self-titled

It isn't really much better at all, really, I don't know where everyone is getting that. They are about the same as far as overall quality goes. Both are hit-and-miss with VERY GOOD high points and fairly awful low points.

This is just so much more focused than the first. Dan and Del just weren't at their best there, and it really brought the album down as a whole here. Again, Danger Mouse and Albarn work very well together.
And yeah, both albums have amazing tracks (although the s/t really only has "Clint Eastwood" imo), and really low points (and here, it's definitely "White Light").
And El Manana = Best single of the year so far.

The album may not be perfect, of course. There are some tracks that just drag on and/or are uninteresting, such as Last Living Souls and O Green World, and there are some that can become slightly annoying (Dare and the only truly bad song on the album, White Light. Come to mind)
I totally disagree with that statement, those 4 are my favorite tracks in this album

I think so. It's a pretty good review; I mean, he isn't a very good writer, but Iluvatar sure knows how to get his points across.

I disagree. I find him eccentric, and at times vehemently unbearable.

I was in London on a school trip the first time I ever heard Clint Eastwood, and I was totally blown away by the sound that the song captured. I have long been a fan of old-school hip-hop, and Alternative is my primary bread and butter listening pleasure, so the song was like a Joygasm to my ears.
After purchasing the self-titled album, I felt a little let down though...
There were a handful of good tracks (at best), and the rest were just "meh..."
It took many times of seeing the now famed ipod commercial with Feel Good Inc. before I realized that it was actually a Gorillaz track. While I enjoyed listening to it, and will admit, that I downloaded the "sampler" track on itunes, I can say that I wasn't overly eager for the album to come out, like so many other people I knew.
I waited a week or so, read some reviews, and decided it was time to judge for myself. Overall, this album has such a (and I hate the term, because it is so cliche in the music industry) mature sound compared to the previous outing.
Hands down, the two best tracks on the disc are El Manana and Every Planet We Reach is Dead. These two tracks made me a believer in the promise and idea of Gorillaz once again. Sad to say though, as short lived as that is, as Gorillaz have announced a "Permanent Hiatus."

It'll be remembered for a few years yet, maybe it'll get played on whatever the radio station for "our times hits" in 20 or so years.
