I have tried this like 5 times already. Sounds like the band recycled allot of their old songs too me. Don't see how this is more popular than their debut.

"Don't see how this is more popular than their debut."
For me it's the scope of the album. It's a progressive thrash opera and was their first attempt at a linear concept album. IMO it was executed masterfully.

I find myself listening to this and Rust In Peace in quick succession and I barely can pick a favourite. Oh well, not until the instrumental part of Lucretia comes on

@DungeonBoy But their unique style of Voivod influenced speed metal was already done on their debut.

maybe because this had a consistent 4.6 average when it first came out and people wanted to know what the hubbub was about

I think as singular songs Black Future is better as they werent written to serve as a conceptual story, i dont really feel like listening to Pteropticon if im not listening to the whole album through, but i can put on Asteroid or Destroying the Cosmos and they work exceptionally well as singular identities

Do you mean on Sputnik?
If so, I think that is attributed to the release years of both of these albums. In 2009, Sputnik was mostly into Radiohead, Thrice, Animal Collective, BTBAM, Opeth, Circle Takes the Square, and a few others. With Black Future being a thrash album I am not surprised at all to see it getting zero attention. And even though the shift in general Sputnik taste has been metal for the past 3 to 4 years, you would think BF would now get some attention, but this is just overshadowing everything plus it has really built up a lot of momentum since it has been released with the insta-5's and a ginormous thread. That's just my opinion on the matter.

I love Black Future and even more so Outer Isolation. For me Black Future is just a collection of really sweet parts. Outer Isolation was a step up in song writing and technical ability. This outclassed both albums in musical proficiency, songwriting, and scope, and introduced some much welcomed elements to their sound.

Weirdly enough i find Dead Creations, Dark Creators to be the highlight of Outer Isolation, not that Venus Project is not also great

Tetrastructural Minds is where it's at.

I'm not sure how this is possible.

this is simply the greatest manifestation of their music so far - if you think it's pointless or not as good as black future then you probably only really care about what came first

Album is fun but definitely Vektor's weakest for me, meanders in parts.

i didn't mean to say anything controversial lol
i just think their compositional and technical proficiency have clearly, if not dramatically, improved with each record. seems natural
