If you ever get the chance to see this band live, I suggest you do so. I went last weekend, and have already bought tickets to see them again in September.
So, so good.

Yeah I mean The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place and All of a Sudden... are both good but none of them are as captivating as this
This is the only album of theirs that really pushes new ground and is totally successful at it

Finally listened to this, nice to see them innovating, but I find The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place more natural and emotional. Having said that, they really needed to change it up with their musical style

Glad you found this enjoyable. I personally prefer this style over the rest of their discography although I can understand most people ranking The Earth as their top achievement.

Its certainly growing on me with more listens, but I enjoy this more as an intriguing musical experiment. The guys create really interesting and unique soundscapes throughout the record that I love, but it doesn't really elicit any strong emotional response from me whereas The Earth really gets me

Saw these guys live again on Thursday...
It's really such a mesmerizing experience seeing them. The lighting was phenomenal, and the music just breathtaking. A lot of these tracks translate amazingly well live.

Distorted drums are bothering me to no end on this one. Disintegration Anxiety would be so much better without that silly effect.

Re-listened to that song and I actually think the distorted drums fit pretty well. It did take some getting used to though.

Love this one but honestly my favorite is still Those Who Tell the Truth [etc]

I always thought the distorted drums were cool, never had an issue with 'em
