Especially on the closer, her performance really pulls at my heart strings.

what all do you like?

Where to begin lol. First off, I like how it's sort of a challenging record (at least for me it was). it's just so powerful and despite the minimalistic approach makes for an unsettling listen at times due to the brooding, repetitious nature of some of the tracks. I also love how sparingly the vocals are used - they're equally haunting and pretty and at times remind me of grouper a tad. Above all, her talent with the violin is pretty ridiculous
As for current favorite tracks: the ridge, we've got a lot, chase the bright and burning, and where the light comes in are all amazing. That closing track is so serene and a nice way to end the album. Also can't help but feel like I hear some folk influences here and there :]
