The last time they lost their drummer they released one of their best albums. Let's see what happens this time.

Kenneth played an important role for the rejuvenation of the band and the route they took at the end of the last decade. However, their previous drummer brought a lot of things to the earlier stuff and early '00s too.
The two members will move forward, but hopefully they'll find someone who can bring something to the table.

You all talk about new motorpsycho, but I've found no new album in 2017 anywhere, not even on sput

Oh no, it very much has been released, it has been sitting in my shelf since Thursday. It's very weirdly classified as an EP on Discogs, but Begynnelser is a 40 minute album in my opinion. It's the soundtrack for the play they contributed to in fall last year. It comes as a double-vinyl plus CD plus DVD of the play including a documentary. Also, it's packaged like a book. It's pretty cool.

OooOoO is it worth the purchase?

It's worth the purchase for the incredibly cool packaging and the DVD alone, the play is really interesting from what I've seen so far. Also, it's VERY norwegian in its tone. It costs around 37 euros. Also, there were only 1500 made, so if you want one, you better buy it quick before it sells out. I'm still mad that I didn't get to buy HBM2.

@Hurricanslash HBM2 was a great song, you should listen to it.
But I hate they keep releasing all this stuff every 6 months. The shipping to Mexico sometimes its more expensive than the album itself!! At the end of the tour I'll spending 15 euros on the California EP and 20 euros from shipping.

I heard it but haven't shaped an opinion yet.

@Mythodea I have to buy it from Stickman, so the charge is in euros and then converted in pesos by the bank. And I thought it would be easier to explain in euros 'cause maybe not everybody knows the value of mexican peso (almost nothing).
About The Tower... really good album, I think Tomas did a great job and brought a fresh sound to the band. On the other hand, I haven't heard any outstanding song in the album yet, but I think they will grow on me sooner or later, like in every Motorpsycho album

That's very true. The new album is pretty diffrent, tone-wise, from Here Be Monsters but I think I'm going to like it eventually. Besides, it's only the second album I've heard from them.

I haven't heard many of their albums (literally three) but from my understanding the new one sounds a lot more "Motorpsycho-esque" than this one
Also the new one is aoty material

You should listen to Heavy Metal Fruit, it's a really great album. If you want something more jazzy-pop maybe something older, like Let them eat cake or Phanerothyme

They really can't make a bad album.
