Wow reading this really takes me back! Still my favourite video game soundtrack of all time by a long way, some of the composition on this is just incredible, you wouldn't think it was from a video game... Jun senoue really is a genius in my book.
As for the game, it had flaws but the story was really brilliant in my opinion, very engaging and much more serious and 'epic' than other sonic stories

Yeah I liked the story quite a bit, even if the pacing was sorta weird

The whole 'perfect chaos'/ancient legend type stuff is just so cool and mysterious, or at least it seemed that way as a kid
Maybe it was just the mystic ruins theme that made it seem so epic lol

Both windy and ripply and azure blue world make me want to go to the beach, it's amazing how Jun gets so much expression out of his guitar

Jun Senoue is a genius, I'm sorry it's true. For this soundtrack he composed music in pretty much every genre out there, from heavy metal to big band jazz, and managed to make it all sound GOOD

I've always liked this game's soundtrack. It boasts a large quantity of memorable cuts, and I would say that Windy Hill's one of them. Pleasure Castle's another earworm I can think of right off the bat

I luv Pleasure Castle
Also that ending aura in Leading Lights < 3
