the new live album is good, i don't feel like it brought that much added value to the original versions though

this is beautifully composed but not interesting enough from a songwriting standpoint to me. gets too caught up within itself...need to give this another shot regardless

i like the live album better but damn i love most songs here, too...

this is definitively her best, also. Her other albums are decent, but this is a couple steps above.

Just finished my first spin of the new one and it’s...a lot. Time will tell but I think it’s virtually impossible I’ll end up enjoying it nearly as much as this or LCS. Surprised there hasn’t been more talk about here it so far, RYM’s going nuts over it.

A lot is a good way to describe it. It's nearly unapproachable.

I will say that it seemed to get more approachable as it went on, but I don’t know if that just because I was getting acclimated to the style or if those songs were truly less obscure. A little of both maybe.

I might get there eventually but I’m not blindly willing to accept anything this woman queefs out as a masterpiece. Seems like the kind of thing that invites measured consideration; it seems it would be a bit questionable to have a confident opinion of it when it’s barely been out two days unless it’s all you’ve listened to in that time.

i just jammed it like 5 times already and boy OH BOY it's good. U know i'm not an all time fan or anything, barely even listened to HYIMW and In the same room

This new one is AOTY material, for sure. It's complicated, and awkward at times, and difficult to keep up with, and overbearing, but it's also beauty.

It's just beauty, man.

I think it's her best and most forward-thinking work, but I'm also intrigued by the argument that it's an "enormous disaster." A divisive release feels exactly right at this juncture of her career, can't have us getting too comfortable.

It probably is her most forward thinking (though I haven’t heard her first two albums), but I generally don’t give a shit about how forward thinking something is so for me it’s a question of whether it’s enjoyable on its own terms. It doesn’t seem like it’s been too divisive so far though, so far I’ve mostly seen heaps of praise with only a handful of people calling bullshit.

And to think I found this album too obtuse at first...
