A great album. There's no such thing as a bad Rush album.

are you ready gocsa666?

this was their first release where i was actually old enough and had a little bit of money to but the cd.....keep in mind cd's were still kind of new.....loved the band beyond belief and this was what they were showcasing at the time......i was 15 years old, already saw a few of their shows live, and the impact was huge for me.....geddy's vocal tone is probably his best on this album and you can't argue with the first 3 cuts.....dreamline became an opener whether it was set 1 or set 2, bravado was perfect, and the t/t was catchy as hell......where's my thing is one of my favorite instrumentals of theirs behind villa and yy......the second half of the album is what did it though.....they played ghost of a chance live in the early going and it was as close to orgasmic for my 15 year old mind at the time, THAT live versions made the hairs on my arm stand up for days.....we were also getting more guitar solos back in the mix and some of them on this record are just incredible, couple with neil's percussion work. It was also the first concert that i saw with my friends, and the festivities that were involved at a show was also the first.

My brain and yearn were probably at their optimal point when it came to identifying and accepting music at 15 years old.....the albums closer was also my late father's favorite rush tune who passed a short time after.

I remember where i bought it too, one of those rare vivid memories that stuck for whatever reason. This was the album, or point in Rush's career, where they had my undivided attention and captured me completely.

It really is a true 5 for me in every sense - i just wish more folks gave it more 'of a chance'

Thanks Titan bro, totally get it, maybe the best 5 reason, I feel the same about other albums, which is why I think people under 30 are missing out, they do not have as many personal stories or are invested in music. It is too easy to just find things on line and listen to 10 albums a day, it is not an event.

agreed hard....the 'event' of physically going to the store to buy a record, analyzing the cover and liner notes on the way home, and then hearing it for THE FIRST TIME once you hit play was one of the greatest smaller things that life had to offer, for me anyway

^ No question about that. And yeah, there are no better reasons to 5 an album than those above.

haha yeah. Still have two shoeboxes of cassettes. Didn't matter how much you enjoyed an album as long it was new.

Half day of school 3rd grade, borrowed Chris Rugg's older brother's vinyl copy of Bark at the Moon, and spent rest of the day taping it

The day my mom let me buy Metal Health at Kmart, couldn't wait to get home
