Taking Back Sunday- Louder Now
I bought this album after hearing "MakeDamnSure", which was the first single off this album. This was also the first TBS album I'd ever bought, and I was impressed. This album is, simply put, an amazing mixture of rock, punk, and, as corny as it sounds, loud music. The title makes sense, this band is louder now. Okay, well I didn't want to write a stupid long paragraph about the meaning of this album or whatever, so on to the review, I guess....
Okay, so I already told you that this album is amazing every way, shape, and form, but now I want to tell you why. Although every song is without a doubt unique, some parts get repetitive. But nonetheless it is a great album and should give anybody with ears a good time. But, now I'll talk about the best and worst songs. In my humble opinion, some of the best songs on here include "Spin", "Blackout (Up Against)", "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost", and "MakeDamnSure". First of all, I'll start with the first track on the album, "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost". This song is definately a great album opener. It opens with a powerful yet soothing intro, all guitar, and then the drums and bass kick in. I think the song is about a ghost sort of haunting someone, and then the person being haunted starts to wonder what it would feel like to be in a ghost's shoes. It's a meaningful and fun song, and it should please new-coming fans, but fans of old TBS may not appreciate it as much. Moving on to the second track, "Liar (It Takes One To Know One)". Now, I personally usually skip over this track. I'm not saying it's a bad song, it's just not exactly my favorite. It gets a bit repetitive towards the end. But it has a fairly catchy intro. Before I get into the rest of the tracks, I'm going to talk about my favorite and least favorite songs.
------MY FAVORITE SONGS--------
Okay, so some of my favorite songs on this album include "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost", "MakeDamnSure", "Spin", "Blackout (Up Against)", and "Twenty Twenty Surgery". These songs may not neccessarily be the best ones, but it really fully depends on the listener.
-----MY LEAST FAVORITE SONGS-----
Now, some of my least favorite songs include "Divine Intervention", "Liar (It Takes One To Know One)", and "My Blue Heaven". First things first, "Divine Intervention" is very boring, probably the slowest and most boring song on the album. About 75% percent of this song is all acoustic guitar and singing. I'm not saying that's bad, but it makes it extra boring, if you know what I mean.
And the last few songs are very good, especially "Error Operator" and "Miami". But I don't wanna go into that, you'll have to see for yourself when you buy this album.
-----BOTTOM LINE-----
If it's good, buy it. A moral for all albums.
-----RECCOMENDED TRACKS-----
Spin
What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?
MakeDamnSure
Blackout (Up Against).
-----OVERALL RATING-----
4/5.

It's good but it....what?
Good album, bad review. Did you read this before you posted it? You have many grammar mistakes and it isn't enjoyable to read at all. Really you only explained two songs off the album. Your word choice is terrible too.

I'm with Depths of Dreams on this one. Try harder next time. And Damn doesn't need to be censored.

I do give you props for trying to go for an overall, but you just don't talk about the sound enough. Just...write more next time is really the next step methinks.

It's good but it....what?
I think he meant: It's good, buy it.*
After the newness wears off, this album isn't as good anymore.

Nah, it's still a damn fine album, but it begins to start serious debate on whether this tops Tell All Your Friends, which I still can't decide.
| | | Pretty deplorable review. Jesus, you repeat yourself quite a bit. You also used "emo" when talking about this band, so DFelon should be here any moment now to write you a citation. As for the review, its embarrassingly bad. And no solos? Ive listened to this album a few times and there are quite a few solos from what I remember.
| | | The second paragraph.. What the hell?
| | | I think that TAYF pwn3s this in the face, but i still really like it
and seeing as dFel isnt here, i will have to tell you that using the word emo in the same sentence as TBS isnt very bright/correct at all
theyre pop-punk
| | | Good job thursdayrage. Someone needs to keep the overcategorizing bitches in their places.
No offense, I just thought that sounded pretty badass (the bitches part)

This album is really amazing, did you not notice the solo in Miami? I mean its not the hardest thing ever but its definitely a solo and TBS aren't pop punk and makedamnsure isnt repetative, the only problems I have with the album are its too short and some of the songs aren't long enough but apart from that its really good

I agree with you that this is an awesome album, but your review was definitely lacking. There wasn't any background info on the band or anything similar, and you only described three of eleven tracks off the album. There are a lot of good songs on the album besides just those three. And, just because Divine Intervention is a slower, acoustic song, that doesn't make it boring. And, "no solos"? Did you listen to Miami? There's definitely a guitar solo in there. This Message Edited On 05.17.06
