haha i somewhat liked what i was hearing, but that was super jarring, and i couldn't shake the feeling that i was listening to a poor man's ulcerate. i'll probably give it another shot sometime

Nah I feel they have a different aesthetic, and this plays up the doom elements a bit more. They do have similar qualities though so I see it as two sides of the same coin.

Even on decent gear (HifiMans 400i's) it still sounds like a washing machine, albeit an engaging washing machine. I have no clue what that means but I still enjoy the record somewhat
