Ok listen to the common mans collapse and then listen to this. They both are virtually polar opposites. I bet if u listen to periphery and this new album you will undertand where im going. In order for these guys to be successful they need to have brandon back and they need misha or that one guy from the faceless.

I can't stand periphery but I like this album alot. I was already a fan of VOM and this doesn't change that.

No one needs Misha. In fact the world would be better without him.

Okay. Maybe a little harsh. But he needs to stay away from music.

he can riff, but does that make him a 'modern great'? no wAY
and if you really do that feel that way, your ears just haven't been exposed to anything better

Everything from Periphery 1 and before is riff city imo. But the stuff now is just bland

misha pioneered a sound and a genre and spawned a league of youtube/soundcloud copycats for us to love

people always forget meshuggah when they say they stuff like that but misha definitely popularized the sound

I'm not saying there aren't more talented modern guitarists out there, but to say that Misha isn't the reason for the popularization of one of the biggest modern guitar sounds is silly. And to deny his talent is ridiculous. The guy is a fuckin riff machine for christ sake.
@bloc- Hopefully Juggernaut just suffered because they were trying to fit songs into a story. Periphery Three will tell.

"he guy is a fuckin riff machine for christ sake."
Just because he has riffs doesn't make him a groundbreaking guitarist. Sure he's good but I can think of other bands who a) used the same techniques before CMC & b) are way more popular.
