This just in! New Tool album is actually a political covers album with one new original song (Descending), ala eMOTIVe. The reveal came on the heels of an announcement of an indefinite hiatus.

I read your comment and I stopped thinking if I have to read Maynard's commentary in between lines, because the only way you can understand his thoughts is by finding which dialect is he's on. If not, no matter how brilliant you are, you're not going to get his message which is another thing that annoys me.

Another thing that I found interesting is that he's a hardcore fan of Nietzche and I'm serious, HE'S DEEP INTO NIETZCHE THINKING, he's consider one of the best trolls in the history of philosophy, not even Socrates did it that far with the Socratic method which I enjoy a lot.

so you're saying the purported album opener Spider Song isn't actually going to be a searing rendition of the Mike & Peggy classic Itsy Bitsy Spider?

I felt like commenting on this album because I enjoyed it very much. Also, Maynard has the incredible ability of trolling his fanbase, so I wouldn't be too surprised. Although certain covers Maynard performed (i.e. "When The Levee Breaks" and "Imagine") were pretty good, I highly doubt he will release another cover album unless it is under his solo act label. Tool will probably release something equally as artistic and mysterious as their previous entries. I will find it interesting how they incorporate modern influences into their new album.

One of the motives I stopped listening to tool is because of the toxic fanbase, let me explain you.
A few years ago APC came to Argentina so somehow I found a fan group in facebook with another friend of mine.
Guess what happened when I started to make a constructive criticism against Maynard?. YEP they kicked me out and since then I don't want to find them again in my life.

The fanbase of anything Maynard James Keenan related is that all of the fans are these artistic visionaries who garner the supernatural ability to appreciate everything he makes. There is no room for criticism because everything MJK makes is perfect. Any fan who makes a remark is now a poser who is pretending to like metal for the sake of being unique or different. The fanbase of most musicians is what ruins their music in general. They set expectations and turn bands into this sort of "lifestyle" and portray musicians to be something that they aren't. That's what happened to the Twenty One Pilots. Their fanbase sucks to the point where they created this fantasy the Twenty One Pilots are going to kill the mainstream. It's comedic at times, but the fact people invest so much into musicians is astonishing.
