I do prefer A Crows lyricism all in all I think. Just a wonderful piece of art, and I still wish it didn't exist. Phil is probably my favourite artist at the moment actually.

His discog is massive, so I dont blame you for having only dipped your toes in, I'm the same (checked like 7-8 projects at this point, which I'm sure - taking into account all his rarities - is not even a quarter in).

Edit: Check 'It Was Hot...' if you dig The Glow Pt2s general aesthetic, its similar, if simpler and not as good

Sorry, see my edit haha. Basically, for the Microphones you can't really go wrong with 'It Was Hot...'. The Microphones - Mount Eerie is a must listen, but a challenging one, recommended later down the line. A good Mount Eerie starting point is No Flashlight, fantastic and detailed themes and lyricism and a very easy to enjoy aesthetic

I only figured out this was a 5 in trying to compose my top 100 albums ever list. To my surprise this just blew half my 5s out the water, so had to bump it

I think Illinois might be better tbh, but I love them both pretty much equally.

It's just as good. Gives some nice added crescendoes to songs like All of Me
