Ashes grew off me as opposed to this which has grew on me. The Mantle is still loads better though agreed.

The only aspects I could understand being seen as cringeworthy is the floppy snare tone, occasional out-of-tune sounding guitar, and some cheesy vocal moments. Other than that this is just as good as The Mantle or Ashes....

I agree 100%, those are exactly the problems I have with this. Guess they just bug me more than most people

Nothing here is even remotely cringeworthy for me tbh, I respect your opinion though bro. m/

The only thing would be the unnecessary opera vocals at times.

yeah I don't mind it anymore but at first I was like, wtf? It is a bit random compared to the material around it.

is that the spoken word passage in the first song? that's one of the best parts...

Yeah that part is definitely a bit annoying hahaha. Also the female vocals on this album I'm not a huge fan of. Don't get me wrong, operatic vocals can have a great effect in a lot of music, but they just seem kind of out of place here.

Ehhhhh idk bro I dig when the female vocals come in tbh. They're haunting as hell and I think they def fit the atmosphere of the album.

Once again though that could just be by inner fanboy coming out....

part of the amateurish cheesiness is what gives this band its charm for me. For some reason the corny cleans and everything else just make this more, idk, intimate? It doesn't sound like computerized highly precise music; it sounds like some dudes playing acoustic guitars and thocking a deer skull to make cool sounds and the sincerety of it all makes it more interesting.
