My favorite song is Nothing Good Ever Happens At The Goddamn Thirsty Crow

I mean an album like those two songs would definitely be more stripped down than this, which I personally have no issue with. Tbh another album with as much going on as this one might just feel repetitive.

Idc for it being stripped down
I just love the passion of the other songs. The lyrics.
Bored In the USA is kind of cheesy to me

And only because he is obviously doing like play on words to Bruce's Born in the USA

I think Bored In The USA is some top tier satire. Opinions aside, I think Father John Misty is something truly special and I think he's going to transform into something truly remarkable.

@flagash: yeah you either love the laugh track in Bored or you hate it
In the interview he says the new album (which he has already written) will be more looking outward, like Bored and Holy Shit were. I liked the more topical approach of those songs. Although I guess the interview doesn't necessarily imply that the new album will be instrumentally like those, but their lyrics are better fit for more stripped down folk music.

Last three songs are by far the best.
Bored in the USA has the laughter track so that negates all cheese with one cheeky wink
Thirsty Crow and Chateau Lobby are also great

Agreed, the album closes itself really well. Side B ("Strange Encounter" to the end) is better than side A, though all the songs rule.

Pangea have you spun John Grant 'Queen of Denmark'? If you like that tune best you need to listen to that album, much of it in a similar style
