Their best release since 2006's 'The Paramour Sessions', Papa Roach combine much of what they have done over their 15 year career on 8th LP 'F.E.A.R.'. Slickly produced by Kevin & Kane Churko, this energetic & relatively consistent release contains a harder edge, even if it's far from innovative. Apart from some mid-album radio fodder, nothing is too bad, while the standard lyrics are sung with passion & sincerity by Jacoby Shaddix, who even returns to rapping on highlight 'Gravity'. Tight & concise at just 36 minutes in length, the 2 bonus tracks should have been included. Recommended Tracks: Gravity, Face Everything and Rise, Skeletons & War Over Me.

Hmm, this did the least for me out of all their records.

Being too generic is not an issue...at least for me, But they are too generic with their bland-ism.

I thought this was a really good, fun listen actually. Sure it's generic as hell, but then 90% of radio rock is anyway

I can't listen to this entire thing and differentiate all the songs, I can't say I'm disappointed since I was never huge on these guys, but I actually quite enjoyed The Connection after the terrible Metamorphoses

You might dig it man, it's different from anything they've ever done. The album's an awesome blend of their original influences + new styles.

Still like The Connection more enjoyable, but this isn't as bad as it's made out to be.

Album is still this band's best, which is impressive given the size of their discography.
|
| |
Wouldn't it be impressive based on the quality of their discography? Just having released a bunch of albums doesn't mean that the best of them is any good.

I was more or less referring to the stereotype that a band's earlier works especially in this genre are viewed as consistently higher in quality.
