Like they never would have been able to churn out their self-titled masterpiece or reload with him weighing them down.

Hey Laughing Skull. Since you were kind enough to give me feedback on my KILL 'EM ALL review, I've decided to return the favor. However, I'm not nitpick your grammar or prepositions. Also, there will be no need for me to debate your rating on this album since we each agree that this one is a solid 5.0.
It should never seem easy to review a classic album like RUST IN PEACE. You're never going to please everyone and so much has already been said. Although I didn't get to read your original version, your revision is really good. The fact that it was long didn't bother me because your introduction was interesting enough to keep reading. I thought you came up with a really neat way of putting this album in context and in relation to what the lyrics of "Holy Wars" was inspired by and also seems to have predicted.
The section about Scott Ian was amusing, but I think you could have made that point a little shorter and gone on to other things.
I think you did your victory lap a little too soon and planted your flag at a lower base camp on this mountain. By the time you got to the actual review of the album, you seemed out of breath. Your summation of the album was pretty much preaching to the choir. Also, you were assuming that your reader was already well familiar with the album, so why bother saying too much about it? This whole section was rather terse and not particularly informative.
If I were you, I would scrap the whole Scott Ian thing and build upon the original idea of relating Dave's lyrical concepts to world events circa 1990 (or even present). You only discussed really one song. What about "Polaris", "Hangar 18" and "Dawn Patrol". It wouldn't bother me a bit if this was an extraordinarily long review, as long as it is interesting.

@Robbit:
Thanks for the comment, bro. I agree on your criticism about that Scott Ian part. It sounds really douchey from my side to describe him and his band in such a way (although I still think that Anthrax aren't as good as the other 3 bands), but it was a useful quote to get my point across.
As for the "actual review of the album", well, the thing is what you already said: Everything about this album's music has already been said, so that's why I chose an entirely different approach by focusing on its theme and social/political commentary, rather than the music. Had I talked about the music just a bit more, then the length would've been unbearable.
Cheers!
