I like this album. I like HIM... alot. I think this album was a huge step up from Love Metal which IMHO i think was their worse album.

I can see why some people don't like these guys, but personally I like a lot of their music. It does annoy me when I see all these so called "goth" kids listening to them and saying they're the best band in the world. If you want real goth listen to Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, or Fields of the Nephilim. But anyways, I feel these guys make some pretty good quality melancholy pop/rock and I think when you look at them that way, it's much easier to see their talent.

For those of you who want to listen or don't have anything better to do, here is a link to HIM's fifth song of the new album, song is called Passion Killing Floor. First single of the album

Pretty solid review, although I think that your review was really quite biased. You should try looking at the album from a more objective perspective, the guitar lines you feel are "bland" are still quite original, regardless of if you find them boring. You say that the singer has a bad voice and bad harmonies, but the harmonies are executed just as well as any harmony, and he has a huge range. This is just my opinion, I do agree that the album isn't perfect (The Face Of God, Dark Light, and Play Dead all bug me quite a bit) but I think that your review was pretty biased by the popular opinion of HIM.

I tried listening to HIM but can't really stand them after 10 minutes

Ville Valo is hot. That's all I have to say about HIM.

I think I like a total of 3-4 songs of this, and even then they're just above average.
Their new single sounds okay, a bit more guitar-oriented, but nothing amazing.

I really liked HIM for a long time and there are songs I love by them still, but this album is my least favorite.

I've heard their older stuff is much better, but I never really cared enough to go out and buy something.

Love Metal I can say is extremly good by their standards. It's easily the most metal but also has some of the best guitar work I've heard in mainstream rock. Not to mention it shows hints of progression. Sadly they dropped all that after that album.

"Right Here In My Arms" is the only HIM song I like.

I like that song too. *begins to sing*

So did. I am not ashamed to say I still enjoy my Ville.
