Today I'm going to try & get through more than 5 minutes of this. I think 30-ish might be my current record (from circa 2008).

Maybe I just don't like it? I can appreciate bungle-influenced stuff, in particular some of Dog Fashion Disco's/Polkadot Cadaver's records, but their music is more enjoyable because they remembered to add hooks in amongst all the craziness.
This has interesting moments sandwiched in-between plenty of tedium. A lot of the time I just end up thinking 'why?'

California is definitely more accessible than this man, one of my favourite records so definitely check that.
This and Disco [even moreso Disco] are very off the wall.

I've actually heard California before & although it did seem more accessible nothing grabbed me, was quite a while back though so could try again of course.

There is no not liking this.
Tedium? I think you're listening to a different album.

Depends on your perspective, I know this is generally declared an album of immense fun probably because it's constantly changing in some way, but if you don't like the way it flows then it can become tedious. I reach the point where instead of wondering what's going to happen next (in anticipation), I'm waiting for it to end.
I can listen to it quite comfortably now, it isn't horrible, just doesn't hold my attention for very long. This time around I've resorted to trying it in small doses, a few tracks at a time.
