Excited need to hear this now, I checked out ariel pink haunted graffiti recently after seeing julian casablancas + the voidz (which is a contender for aoty for me) compared with his projects.

Alright, so apparently theres two Ariel Pink profiles and this review is in the new one. Should we just merge the two?

Also, my friend has been begging me to get into them so i'll probably do that

Ehh, this album isn't technically under "Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti" if that's what you're asking. He recorded it under Ariel

Pink.

yeah it's a bit confusing, but they're technically 2 different artists as far as the database goes. worst case, post in the meds thread in the site forum and ask them to sort out the mishap. or, just make the edits yourself and they'll probably approve it eventually. meh.

My only real problem with this album is the mixing/production. There's clipping everywhere, it's like Death Magnetic all over again. A guy on another site did a pretty fantastic remastering of it and there's some instruments you'd never pick up on in the original mix.

This reads like a dream, if this album is as you say it is then you definitely did it justice. Pos'd + thanks for the feedback on mine.

A tear was shed while reading this review. I'm serious, the part where you began talking about the old man singing, I lost it.
I listened to The Doldrums in the past, didn't quite know how to absorb it while staying upright. I'll give this a try

This is what I'd imagine a stoned Magnetic Fields doing songs for Sesame Street sounding like. A couple of interesting moments but otherwise a bit too quirky for my taste.

Nice review man. You make some smart observations.

Album's hilarious and full of well-crafted pop songs imo. Crucially Pink maintains the irony throughout.

I haven't heard this guy's music before two days ago. This album is everything right now.
