'If you were a dog they would've drowned you at birth' has to be one of the most harrowing lyrics I've heard

Dude I Might Be Wrong might have one of the most catchy guitar riffs ever

I like a lot of this record, but thom also sounds like a dying squirrel here most of the time

Fits the album perfectly as well

This and HTTT are great albums, but probably feature Thom's worst vox. I'd definitely say Bends and TKOL are where he shines

Ok so upon reflection my biggest problem with this is now the vox, Yorke sounds like a dying cat through most of the album. It's a surprising revelation because initially I just thought it was uninteresting, so either I've changed or my memories are playing tricks on me.

Either way the songs aren't consistently engaging but I'd probably enjoy them a lot more if Yorke wasn't so whiny.

i've heard so many people describe vocalists as sounding like "dying cats" that I now no longer have any idea what it's supposed to mean

The one reason I know what it means is because other people use it & I know what they mean. Know what I mean? It is a curious phrase.

My family cat sounds horrendously grating when he wants to, the sound goes straight through me & that's despite the fact he wasn't/isn't dying.

In this instance, the dying cat metaphor is accurate

“It adds to the vibe” yeah if you want a dying cat vibe

If you're bored, here's something you can do:

"Do yourself a favour. Put this on (Pyramid Song slowed 800% https://youtu.be/XiKWfcy-Z70) and around 12:30 seconds in, play the original unslowed in a new tab while putting this at about half or a third volume."

Really a great album.

My favourite songs: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors, Dollars & Cents, Life In A Glasshouse and I Might Be Wrong.

I only have this album and Kid A. Should I try another album of them?
