Am I the only one that doesn't think of Soilwork as melodeth? I always thought they were considered metalcore.
The Living Infinite was pretty damn good tho

They verged on metalcore starting with Stabbing the Drama but they backed off pretty quick.

Ah, I don't think I've listened to a full album from them besides The living infinite double cd and I think I listened to the one before it a long time ago but I don't remember it

The last Insomnium was good. Soilwork jumped back into the melodeath scene. Carcass released an awesome album. A lot of the other bands are at least solid.
Fair enough, I love two out of the three you've mentioned. DT and In Flames are forgettable to me these days and this was just watered down horseshit. Wait until Dan Swano releases his new solo album in 2015...

the last Insomnium was average at best and living infinite is really overrated. Only melodeath I look forward to nowadays is Be'lakor. And jesus christ Willie, that gif is so annoying lol, sorry

I loved the last Dark Tranquillity album. My second favorite behind Projector. In Flames are mainstream alt. metal these days.

I know. It's fucking wonderful ;)

I love your gif Wille. It's mesmerizing.
I'm never gonna get tired of saying that DT is the most consistently awesome melodeth ever.

Melodeath is not dead, as Willie has correctly mentioned people declare it dead because they feel as though they've moved on from the genre.

@gameofmetal It was, until We Are The
Void. The last one was good I guess. All

I do agree with this (admitting I have mostly moved on or just doesn't interest me as much anymore) but I will also be the first to tell you how much I love the odd newer melo-death release and how much a lot of it sucks at the same time.

The last Heaven Shall Burn release was another good melodeath album.

Oh yeah it was sweet. The vocalist for that band is a bit monotonous for me but I really liked Veto and another album or two from them.

The only notable melodeath vocalist is the guy from Dark Tranquillity, IMO.
